The head of the Mineral Wealth Authority participates in the International Mining Conference in Russia
The geological expert, Yasser Ramadan, head of the Mineral Wealth Authority, embarked on a journey from the homeland to Russia, accompanied by Dr. Hani Mustafa, the head of the board of directors of the Egyptian Company for Mineral Resources
The purpose of this journey is to participate in the international conference titled “Africa Seeks Solutions
the International Mining Conference in Russia
The international event extends over a period of five days, from December 10 to 15, and takes place at the St. Petersburg Mining University, which is part of the higher education structure under the Russian government
The conference is held in the context of seeking solutions to various challenges facing the African continent in the field of wealth and mining
The presence of Yasser Ramadan, the geologist, at this conference reflects Egypt’s commitment to enhancing international cooperation in the exploration and exploitation of natural resources, as well as exchanging experiences and knowledge in this vital context
The conference also presents an opportunity to engage with global experts and specialists, shedding light on developments and innovations in the mining and mineral wealth industry, aiming to enhance the mining sector in Egypt and Africa as a whole
From the Russian side, the forum, which will be held at the St. Petersburg Mining University under the patronage of Empress Catherine II, will be attended by the special representative of the head of the Russian Federation for International Cultural Cooperation, Mikhail Shvydkoy, the head of the Federal Agency, and Rosnedra Agency’s Yevgeny Petrov, as well as several other important politicians and top executives of leading local companies
Already, over 100 heads of leading universities and representatives of executive and legislative authorities and major companies from more than 25 countries in Africa have confirmed their attendance. Among them are the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Development in Zimbabwe, Murwira Ammon, and the Minister of Natural Resources in Nigeria, Oladile Olaki. Representing Egypt, geologist Yasser Ramadan, the head of the Mineral Wealth Authority, will be there, along with more than a thousand foreign participants
Russia has expressed its readiness to cooperate with partners from Africa in training top-tier employees, including through UNESCO’s grant system, acquiring new knowledge for further technological advancement, and establishing joint scientific teams
Before departing the country, the head of the Mineral Wealth Authority inaugurated several laboratories for preparing and analyzing samples of gold extracted from mines. Additionally, he signed agreements with international mining companies
These steps align with the commitment of the head of the authority to fulfill the directives of President Sisi, who emphasized the importance of achieving a qualitative leap in the mining sector through enhancing research efforts, extraction technology, and analysis
These efforts respond to President Sisi’s call for tangible progress in the mining field, highlighting the importance of adopting modern technology and promoting scientific research in developing and improving mineral extraction processes
The head of the authority looks forward to realizing this vision through the implementation of plans and programs to enhance innovation and technological development in the mining sector, contributing to improving the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the industry
