A Milestone in the Mining Industry .. ISK Gold Analysis Lab in Marsa Alam Welcomes Companies
Inaugurated by the Minister of Petroleum
Under the auspices of Engineer Tarek El Molla, the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, last Saturday witnessed the inauguration of one of the leading laboratories in the analysis of gold and associated minerals in Egypt and the Middle East
This project represents a qualitative leap in the mining industry in Egypt. It was established by Nubian Mining Company in Marsa Alam, under the leadership of Mr issam khorani, the Chairman of the Board, and managed by the international company ISK
Expertise and Proficiency
The laboratory is managed by ISK, which boasts extensive experience in managing and operating laboratories. The technical team at ISK-GSL consists of members holding the highest scientific degrees in chemistry and geochemistry, with doctoral, master’s, and bachelor’s degrees. These experts ensure the quality of the operations and analyses conducted in the laboratory
International Accreditation
The laboratory is the only one in Egypt accredited by the National Accreditation Council according to the international standard ISO/ISE17025. The scope of accreditation includes analyses of gold and associated minerals using wet chemical techniques (aqua regia) and physicochemical techniques (fire assay)
Strategic Investment
This significant step is a strategic investment in the development of Egypt’s mining industry, contributing to enhancing the country’s analytical capabilities and raising the quality standards in laboratory management. The laboratory enables the use of the latest technologies for examining and analyzing mineral resources efficiently, contributing to the sustainability of this vital sector
Advanced Techniques and Increasing Productivity
This crucial step also embodies Egypt’s commitment to improving the mining environment and promoting innovation in this vital sector. It is expected that this modern laboratory will enhance Egypt’s position as a key center for mineral analysis and contribute to the development of mining industry locally and regionally. The laboratory conducts tests and analyses for all international mining companies operating in Egypt and beyond
Technological Advancement
In the race for technological progress and innovation in the mining industry, the recently opened laboratory in the heart of Marsa Alam shines as a symbol of excellence and innovation in the analysis of gold and associated minerals
Unique Features
This laboratory is unique in its kind in the Middle East, featuring advanced techniques and specialized departments ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of operations. The laboratory includes the following departments
Sample Coding and Reception Department
Characterized by advanced technology in sample numbering using barcode systems, reducing common errors in this vital process
Crushing and Grinding Department
Takes an effective step in crushing and grinding operations, achieving a grinding size of less than 75 microns, enhancing the accuracy and quality of analyses
Sample Weight Department
Features precise balances with an accuracy of up to four decimal places, with periodic calibration of all devices to ensure their efficiency
Chemical and Physicochemical Processing Department
Includes modern furnaces and high-precision devices for roasting samples and fire assay analyses, with regular calibration of devices to ensure result accuracy
Gold Concentration Measurement Department
Utilizes two high-precision atomic absorption devices, with accuracy reaching parts per million (PPM), for the ultra-precise analysis of gold concentration and associated elements
Productivity and Expansion
The laboratory takes pride in its ability to process more than 200 samples daily. According to the current plan, it is expected that productivity will reach 400 samples per day by the end of 2024, demonstrating its commitment to achieving excellence and advancing the mining industry in the region
