Minister of Petroleum Highlights the Importance of Digital Gateway to Boost the Mining Sector
Engineer Tarek El Molla, the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, emphasized the significance of establishing the first-of-its-kind digital gateway dedicated to investment in the mining sector
This ambitious project represents a qualitative leap aimed at attracting investments to this vital sector and achieving complete digital transformation in its management. These affirmations came during a meeting held at the headquarters of the Mineral Resources Authority, where the progress of the portal construction project was reviewed
The new digital gateway aims to market investment opportunities in research and the exploitation of mining materials in a flexible and fast manner. This approach enables the attraction of investors from around the world, allowing them to digitally access available opportunities and submit investment proposals in Egyptian mining regions
These opportunities will be accessible through specific auctions launched on the digital gateway, facilitating and expediting the investment decision-making process. The Minister followed the project team’s progress during the meeting, consisting of a coalition of specialized companies such as The MSA Group, Gold Pyramid Group, Spatial Dimension, and New Smart Egypt, in addition to the Mineral Resources Authority team
The meeting also included a review of the implementation steps and the targeted plan for the upcoming period, along with a presentation of successful models executed with high efficiency by The MSA Group worldwide
The Minister emphasized the importance of training employees at the Mineral Resources Authority and the teams that will manage the platform to ensure effective interaction with the new digital gateway. He also stressed the need to monitor updates and continuous development in this context. Additionally, he highlighted the importance of providing new digital maps for the mining sector on the portal, contributing to enhanced efficiency and effectiveness
The meeting was attended by Engineer Alaa Khushab, Deputy Minister for Mineral Resources and Geology, Dr. Yasser Ramadan, President of the Mineral Resources Authority, Dr. Mohamed El Bagouri, Director-General of Legal Affairs at the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, and Engineer Ahmed Saad, Director-General of Investment and Planning in the Mining Sector at the Ministry
