Russia launches Inner Africa Universities Union for Mining with Egyptian

This signing took place on the sidelines of the international mining conference titled “Africa Seeks Solutions.” The document was signed by the deans of the first technical university in Russia, Vladimir Litvinenko, and the Nigerian Admiral University, Omaji Paul Omaju, who was elected as the president of the new collaboration

More than 130 different organizations from 42 countries on the continent participated in the union, including not only universities but also scientific institutes, geological societies, mining companies, and mineral-related organizations

The international conference “Africa Seeks Solutions” concluded yesterday in Saint Petersburg, confirming that many African countries possess, on a per capita basis, mineral reserves more significant than Russia’s. However, they are unable to extract and utilize them to improve the quality of life for their populations

All conference participants agreed that the current two-tier employee training system imposed by the West does not meet the challenges of the time. To break free from the grip of the new colonization, Africa simply needs to present a different model for higher education

To address this issue, it is expected that branches of Russian universities will be opened in several African countries in the foreseeable future, and Russian language courses will be taught there

Among other areas of cooperation, the conference called for the establishment of joint research teams and engineering centers in both Africa and Saint Petersburg (with representatives from the continent). They will participate in implementing specific industrial projects, including the search and exploration of mineral resources, assessing natural resource reserves, analyzing the profitability of deposit development, and providing scientific support for the construction of processing institutions leading to the production of consumer goods
